Global Citizenship (GC) Programme Ignition Event

4 Feb 2016 - 12:15

To kick of the year, the GC Programme hosted our Ignition Event on Wednesday, 24 February. This was the launch event for the GC Programme in 2016 and in particular the first semester course Service, Citizenship and Social Justice (GC2). The event was held in the Centre for African Studies Gallery.

Edwina Brooks, Director of the Student Development Cluster in the UCT Department of Student Affairs, and Suellen Shay, Dean of the Centre for Higher Education Development, both gave brief talks on the importance of programmes like GC within the context of transformation in higher education.

After this, students enjoyed games and activities, an introduction to the GC2 course and refreshments.
